´╗┐Boat Fuse Box ExtensionMitosis Diagram - What is the First Phase of Mitosis? ? All these stages, as is discussed in prior articles of this series, are divided into two basic classes: initial phase and secretory stage. Phase 2 of mitosis, secretory phase, is exactly what we typically call the start of mitosis. To put it differently, the secretory phase is also the second phase of mitosis. In the diagram below, I will use the image of a branch of mitosis to two big phases. One of those phases, known as secretory stage, is displayed in red and is the next in sequence to the conclusion of the first phase. To be able to make the diagram more apparent, I'll use a brief phrase, which describes the next phase of mitosis: the secretory stage. In the diagram, the stage indicated with the picture is shown in red. This stage is the first one in the sequence, which is discussed in earlier posts of this set. In the next phase, that in crimson, one finds that the initiation of mitosis, which begins the second phase of mitosis, that is the second stage of mitosis that's displayed in the diagram. Because it's clear from the above image, one can easily see the difference between both stages of mitosis. Now, the question remains as to what's the first phase of mitosis. In fact, the very first phase of mitosis is divided into three stages; each one using its own name. The name of the phase is active mitosis, active secretory stage, and delayed mitosis. The title of the first phase of mitosis, lively mitosis, refers to the process of the cell division that occurs at the time when a sperm cell joins with an egg cell. The cells that combine with each other are called spermatogonia, and they get specialized for the job of fertilization. In this phase, the spermatocytes and oocytes type the nucleus. The first stage of mitosis, the busy secretory stage, occurs when the spermatocytes multiply and divide a few times. One spermatocyte fertilizes one egg cell, and the outcome is a spermatocyte and its egg counterpart. The second stage of mitosis, referred to as the postponed secretory stage, is divided into two phases. The first one is known as delayed branch and is marked by the formation of small clumps of cells referred to as spermatids and the second phase of mitosis is called post-mating division.
