We have all seen the phase diagrams and have wondered just how a wave actually functions. These diagrams represent the route of an electric current through time and space, but it is much more than that. In order to understand this well, we must have a look at some of the properties of electromagnetic waves since they are emitted or absorbed by matter.
To start with, we will need to be aware that the source of an electromagnetic wave is the origin of energy.
